Giovanny Sulems was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Robrecht Van Geestel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanny Sulems having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Jelle van der Eycken made a precise shot to the right of Giovanny Sulems. FC Bredene's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 13 minutes into the match, Café DE PLOEG's goalkeeper Matthy Styles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robben Vrijdags. 14 minutes into the game, Tristan Symons cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Giovanny Sulems was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Stan Verheijt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Café DE PLOEG's supporters rose to their feet, but Stan Verheijt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanny Sulems breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giovanny Sulems took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jelle van der Eycken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovanny Sulems came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Café DE PLOEG's Tristan Symons. But to his dismay, Tristan Symons quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Giovanny Sulems took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jelle van der Eycken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Robrecht Van Geestel put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Giovanny Sulems. Café DE PLOEG's Matthy Styles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Van Hoyveldt in the 40th minute of play. Giovanny Sulems didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robrecht Van Geestel went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Giovanny Sulems showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stan Verheijt in the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, FC Bredene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terry Van Den Brande to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Andreas Van Hoyveldt made the kick off in the second half. Jelle van der Eycken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Giovanny Sulems made a huge save. In the 55th minute Robrecht Van Geestel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanny Sulems saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovanny Sulems was a little too slow when Tristan Symons got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-7. Jelle van der Eycken's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Giovanny Sulems firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robrecht Van Geestel in the 60th minute of play forced FC Bredene's goalkeeper Giovanny Sulems to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 played minutes FC Bredene got a freekick which was hit by Tran Vranken. Giovanny Sulems made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristan Symons in the 64th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Bredene's Tran Vranken got a free kick in the 64th minute. Tristan Symons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Giovanny Sulems tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Bredene's Giovanny Sulems proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save FC Bredene from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Café DE PLOEG's Giovanny Sulems threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tristan Symons, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 70th match minute, FC Bredene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Van Hoyveldt to maneuver through the defense. Jelle van der Eycken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Giovanny Sulems made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tristan Symons in the 74th minute of play forced FC Bredene's goalkeeper Giovanny Sulems to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jelle van der Eycken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Giovanny Sulems made a huge save. In the 77th minute Tristan Symons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanny Sulems saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovanny Sulems made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Jelle van der Eycken sent off a good shot on target. When Jullian Gijselinghs fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Café DE PLOEG's protests and gave Jullian Gijselinghs a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot 93 in the game by Robrecht Van Geestel from a close distance when the talented Giovanny Sulems managed to make a qualified save. FC Bredene's players were relieved. Jelle van der Eycken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Giovanny Sulems made a huge save. Café DE PLOEG's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
