Spectators: 161 (Terracing: 121, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Andreas Van Hoyveldt got the match started through his kick off. Luckas Engelbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanny Sulems having to interfere. Joannes Grootjans hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After having played for 12 minutes, Tran Vranken managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Bredene's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tran Vranken was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Bredene's Giovanny Sulems proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save FC Bredene from getting a goal against them. Giovanny Sulems stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bill Van Gysel's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Andreas Van Hoyveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franck vrolijx read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Royal Antwerp FC! When Tran Vranken fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Bredene's protests and gave Tran Vranken a yellow card for diving instead. 31 minutes into the game, Luckas Engelbert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Royal Antwerp FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Bredene the free kick. Tran Vranken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tran Vranken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franck vrolijx having to interfere. Franck vrolijx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robben Vrijdags, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Luckas Engelbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the game, Joannes Grootjans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Royal Antwerp FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Bredene the free kick. The supporters of FC Bredene booed when Royal Antwerp FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joannes Grootjans didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had been going on for 47 minutes Robben Vrijdags shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Franck vrolijx when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. After the first half FC Bredene were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bill Van Gysel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Royal Antwerp FC's Lorenz Geest nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giovanny Sulems made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 57th minute, Lorenz Geest ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giovanny Sulems was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. When Bill Van Gysel came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Royal Antwerp FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bill Van Gysel couldn't finish the play. Bill Van Gysel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanny Sulems having to interfere. Tran Vranken might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franck vrolijx. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tran Vranken ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Bredene's Giovanny Sulems played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bill Van Gysel in the 73rd minute of play. Luckas Engelbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bill Van Gysel during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Royal Antwerp FC's Bill Van Gysel got a free kick in the 76th minute. After 85 played minutes Royal Antwerp FC got a freekick which was hit by Joannes Grootjans. The FC Bredene fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when FC Bredene's Robben Vrijdags looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 93 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Van Hoyveldt came free, but Franck vrolijx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over FC Bredene could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Royal Antwerp FC throughout the match.
