Flock of Eagles's Otto Linqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joacim Ekblom in the 3rd minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Flock of Eagles's Gert Skålberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robert Ljungberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Kent Fristedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Ljungberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Skålberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Arye Suryoye's Joacim Ekblom got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Otto Linqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kjell Ros in the 14th minute. If Kjell Ros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Flock of Eagles booed when Arye Suryoye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Lundgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Gert Skålberg notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Arye Suryoye's Robert Ljungberg. Robert Ljungberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Arye Suryoye's Henrik Utfal got a free kick in the 24th minute. Gert Skålberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Robert Ljungberg. Arye Suryoye's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ulf Malmström took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robert Ljungberg. Robert Ljungberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Gert Skålberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Arye Suryoye's Bernt Olofsson got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Flock of Eagles's goalkeeper Otto Linqvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 35 played minutes Flock of Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Kent Fristedt. In the 37th minute, Joacim Ekblom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Flock of Eagles's Otto Linqvist got control of the ball when Kjell Ros tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Ulf Malmström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the game, one of Flock of Eagles:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gert Skålberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Ulf Malmström who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Robert Ljungberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Håkan Bäck's late challenge caught a Flock of Eagles's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Håkan Bäck helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th match minute, Arye Suryoye was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Håkan Bäck to maneuver through the defense. Ian Lundgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Flock of Eagles fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! The Flock of Eagles players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
