BV Borussia Hammarby's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rinkeby FC's Eric Sjögren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Kjellbom in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Allan Alegren notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Rinkeby FC's Eric Sjögren. Eric Sjögren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 18th minute, Pelle Norström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to BV Borussia Hammarby getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Jonas Lustig hit a great ball. In the 27th minute of the match Jarl Bruse shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eric Sjögren showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Rinkeby FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sonny Dusett to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute Allan Alegren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Sjögren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Sjögren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Alegren, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ingvar Pilgren made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarl Bruse in the 51st minute of play forced Rinkeby FC's goalkeeper Eric Sjögren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hans Kjellbom scored 2-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Sjögren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Charles Fernström made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Ingvar Pilgren sent off a good shot on target. Ingvar Pilgren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Charles Fernström made a huge save. Eric Sjögren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Kjellbom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Charles Henriksson got free with Charles Fernström in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ingvar Pilgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. BV Borussia Hammarby's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
