Arne Ambjörnsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wolf-Jürgen von Buol-Schaudenstein, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Bengt Holmberg came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Surahammar's Alf Lindmark. But to his dismay, Alf Lindmark quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Bengt Holmberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 19 minutes into the match, Markus Bergsten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bengt Holmberg. Polar Ice Caps's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Markus Bergsten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per Rudberg in the 24th minute of play forced Polar Ice Caps's goalkeeper Bengt Holmberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bengt Holmberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calle Beck, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Ingemar Eckegren's late challenge caught a Surahammar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 31st minute of the match Markus Bergsten sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bengt Holmberg skillfully saved the ball. Polar Ice Caps's Bengt Holmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alf Lindmark in the 33rd minute of play. The wind increased when Ingemar Eckegren made the kick off in the second half. Bengt Holmberg acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 70th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Inge Tunberg. In the 73rd minute, Surahammar's Per Rudberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. Polar Ice Caps's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Nicklas Hjortberg scored to the left of an out of position Bengt Holmberg, making the score, 0-8. A collision led to Surahammar getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Alf Lindmark hit a great ball. In the 91st minute, Surahammar's Alf Lindmark dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. When the match was over Surahammar could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Polar Ice Caps throughout the match.
