Spectators: 165 (Terracing: 124, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) Degerfors IF's Kenny Forsberg started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Johannes Örtendahl scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hannes Johansson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 7 minutes into the game, Degerfors IF's Kenny Forsberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hannes Johansson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Sävedalen's Tom Frisk got a free kick in the 10th minute. Sävedalen's Hannes Johansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claes Stenman in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute Johannes Örtendahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannes Johansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Kenny Forsberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hannes Johansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Forsberg in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 minutes, Agne Widberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Degerfors IF and the Sävedalen players grew even worse after the yellow card. 23 minutes into the game, one of Degerfors IF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 24 minutes Degerfors IF's goalkeeper Pontus Lindström managed, with a little bit of luck, save Erik Bokelund's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Degerfors IF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Erik Bokelund scored to the left of an out of position Pontus Lindström, making the score, 1-2. Sävedalen's Hannes Johansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Örtendahl in the 32nd minute of play. In the 36th minute, Tom Frisk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tommy Palmquist to make the kick off. If Claes Håkansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tommy Palmquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th match minute, Degerfors IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johannes Örtendahl to maneuver through the defense. After 58 minutes of play, Sävedalen's Tommy Palmquist made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pontus Lindström was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sävedalen's goalkeeper Hannes Johansson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hannes Johansson came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Degerfors IF's Kenny Forsberg. But to his dismay, Kenny Forsberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Pontus Lindström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Palmquist, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Jan-Erik Larsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sävedalen's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan-Erik Larsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pontus Lindström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tom Frisk kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Degerfors IF played a much better game than Sävedalen and deserved their victory. The Sävedalen players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
