Claes Håkansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthias Fransson having to interfere. The supporters of Sävedalen booed when JKs Talanger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ragnar Fribäck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matthias Fransson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Erik Larsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Hannes Johansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olov Hellkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sävedalen's Hannes Johansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Sävedalen from getting a goal against them. After the first half Sävedalen were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, Sävedalen's Jan-Erik Larsson got a free kick in the 55th minute. Matthias Fransson was a little too slow when Christian Walroth got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 2-4. With an all-out effort, Sävedalen's Matthias Fransson threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jan-Erik Larsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Elias Landin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Matthias Fransson made a huge save. Matthias Fransson made a fantastic save in the 99th minute, when Erik Bokelund sent off a good shot on target. Sävedalen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
