The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hans Pedersson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonardo Boström went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Charles Lindqvist's late challenge caught a The FlyFishers Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Charles Lindqvist helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sonstorps Fotboll's Charles Lindqvist got a free kick in the 10th minute. Leonardo Boström took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hans Pedersson. Hans Pedersson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Hans Pedersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Boström in the 25th minute of play. When Lars-Erik Odeen came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Sonstorps Fotboll fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lars-Erik Odeen couldn't finish the play. Jens-Ola Mellberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henry Hammarström, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 42nd match minute, The FlyFishers Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Hammarström to maneuver through the defense. Gabriel Dahlkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Jens-Ola Mellberg made a huge save.

The supporters of The FlyFishers Club booed when Sonstorps Fotboll was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olof Arvidsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hans Pedersson was out of position in the 58 minute of play, and Charles Lindqvist capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Charles Lindqvist really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. 63 minutes into the match, The FlyFishers Club's Henry Hammarström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jens-Ola Mellberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 74thth minute of the game Gabriel Dahlkvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sonstorps Fotboll's Jens-Ola Mellberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Hammarström in the 76th minute of play forced Sonstorps Fotboll's goalkeeper Jens-Ola Mellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The FlyFishers Club were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Sonstorps Fotboll's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Michael Kiempe took the corner. The corner ended in Michael Kiempe almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sonstorps Fotboll's Jens-Ola Mellberg did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Dahlkvist in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jens-Ola Mellberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jens-Ola Mellberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabriel Dahlkvist's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. In the 94th minute, Sonstorps Fotboll's Edwin Nordström seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Edwin Nordström the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sonstorps Fotboll protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Edwin Nordström had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 94 minutes into the game, one of Sonstorps Fotboll:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The Sonstorps Fotboll supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sonstorps Fotboll would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
