Sven Kellberg was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Bernt Holmberg. In the 21st minute, Joacim Bäcklin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sven Kellberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Egil Persson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Hafström having to interfere. The supporters of The Gonzez booed when Melchester Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rasmus Henriksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Joacim Bäcklin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sven Kellberg was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fritz Ahlgren to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Melchester Rovers getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Rasmus Henriksson hit a great ball. Egil Persson struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Josef Hafström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Gonzez. Sven Kellberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joacim Bäcklin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Gonzez's goalkeeper Sven Kellberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bernt Holmberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Sven Kellberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
