In the 3rdth minute of the game Bernt Holmberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Gonzez's Sven Kellberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to The Gonzez getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Nils Askstedt hit a great ball. Sven Kellberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joacim Bäcklin, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 14 minutes into the match, The Gonzez's goal looked a bit too open when Bernt Holmberg came free, but Sven Kellberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Karl-Johan Nyberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 21 played minutes Melchester Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Bernt Holmberg. Melchester Rovers's Joacim Bäcklin got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jan Bokelund kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernt Holmberg in the 31st minute of play forced The Gonzez's goalkeeper Sven Kellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, The Gonzez's David Nordlund got a free kick in the 32nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl-Johan Nyberg got free with Josef Hafström in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th minute, Andreas Eriksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simon Rosén's late challenge caught a Melchester Rovers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Rosén helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th match minute, The Gonzez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Rosén to maneuver through the defense. Sven Kellberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joacim Bäcklin's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the match, Joacim Bäcklin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven Kellberg. The Gonzez's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joacim Bäcklin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joacim Bäcklin to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Bernt Holmberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Kellberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 played minutes Melchester Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Björn Norberg. Bernt Holmberg hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Joacim Bäcklin was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 62nd minute. Melchester Rovers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Karl-Johan Nyberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 66 minutes of play, The Gonzez's Karl-Johan Nyberg made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Josef Hafström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sven Kellberg made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Joacim Bäcklin sent off a good shot on target. After 72 minutes of play, Melchester Rovers's Joacim Bäcklin made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sven Kellberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernt Holmberg in the 76th minute of play forced The Gonzez's goalkeeper Sven Kellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven Kellberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joacim Bäcklin in the 84th minute. After a rather tough play, Melchester Rovers's Joacim Bäcklin got a free kick in the 95th minute. The The Gonzez supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Melchester Rovers's performance. The match ended with a win for Melchester Rovers.
