Karl-Johan Söderberg took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sven-Edvin Vedholm. Sven-Edvin Vedholm dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With 6 minutes on the clock, Fred Wikander commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Fred Wikander hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Sven-Edvin Vedholm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hjalmar Brodin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 minutes, Jonny Strömberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dexiators and the Brothers of Mercy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Dexiators was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonny Strömberg to maneuver through the defense. August Frykberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sven-Edvin Vedholm having to make a save. In the 14thth minute of the game Stefan Landin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dexiators's Sven-Edvin Vedholm was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th minute Göran Klint shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Edvin Vedholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Göran Klint sped through Dexiators's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sven-Edvin Vedholm. Göran Klint struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Sven-Edvin Vedholm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brothers of Mercy. After 24 played minutes Dexiators got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Söderström. Hjalmar Brodin, 25 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Brothers of Mercy's Karl-Erik Kihlman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Brothers of Mercy from getting a goal against them. Sven-Edvin Vedholm stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Svante Backman's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After a rather tough play, Brothers of Mercy's Hjalmar Brodin got a free kick in the 31st minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Johnny Söderström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dexiators's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny Söderström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 35 played minutes Dexiators got a freekick which was hit by Malte Lindmark. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stefan Landin in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sven-Edvin Vedholm saved Dexiators from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Johan Söderberg in the 43rd minute of play forced Dexiators's goalkeeper Sven-Edvin Vedholm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bertil Rönn got free with Karl-Erik Kihlman in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Dexiators players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brothers of Mercy were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stefan Landin made a kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dexiators's goalkeeper Sven-Edvin Vedholm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sven-Edvin Vedholm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stefan Landin in the 55th minute. Sven-Edvin Vedholm made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Svante Backman sent off a good shot on target. Bertil Rönn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karl-Erik Kihlman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertil Rönn, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute.
