The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th match minute, NovaStella FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Lindqvist to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of NovaStella FK booed when Norrlands Athen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvald Ahlstedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Åke Hellström in the 15th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Gilbert Åkesson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Åkesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Stålman in the 24th minute of play. Gilbert Åkesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Sandell in the 25th minute of play. Roger Kämpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Almkvist having to interfere. Andreas Stålman scored 2-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilbert Åkesson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 34 minutes into the match, Andreas Stålman dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gilbert Åkesson, 3-1. Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Åkesson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Norrlands Athen from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Athen's Michael Brodin got a free kick in the 38th minute. With a little luck, Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Åkesson got control of the ball when Erling Hellkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 45 minutes, Hannes Holmberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NovaStella FK and the Norrlands Athen players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to NovaStella FK getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Hannes Holmberg hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roger Kämpe made a kick off. Vincent Molin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Almkvist having to interfere. In the 53rd match minute, Norrlands Athen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Kämpe to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Stålman came free, but Gilbert Åkesson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute Urban Ingvall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Almkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, NovaStella FK's Tim Sandell got a free kick in the 68th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Urban Ingvall during the 71st minute. Kent Backman kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Hellkvist in the 96th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Gilbert Åkesson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that NovaStella FK were the better team. NovaStella FK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
