The Hovby IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 12 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Orvar Larsson came free, but Lars-Erik Wall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Norrlands Athen defense, Morgan Ljungberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lars-Erik Wall. The Norrlands Athen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lars-Erik Wall should have stopped the shot. Kent Backman kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Lars-Erik Wall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Morgan Ljungberg in the 23rd minute of the match. Lars-Erik Wall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sten Siggesson in the 27th minute of play. Lars-Erik Wall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Morgan Ljungberg in the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Jimmie Nilsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hovby IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Norrlands Athen the free kick. In the 90th minute of the match, Morgan Ljungberg got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lars-Erik Wall was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the match was over Hovby IF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Norrlands Athen throughout the match.
