The audience thought a goal was coming when Arne Österlund got free with Orvar Engström in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 16 played minutes Vännäsby BF got a freekick which was hit by Marko Lindberg. Orvar Engström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Folke Skräddare in the 20th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Hovby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Folke Skräddare came free, but Orvar Engström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Hovby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Österlund came free, but Orvar Engström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Filiph Ek fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vännäsby BF's protests and gave Filiph Ek a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Vännäsby BF's Marko Lindberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Morgan Ljungberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Douglas Landin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 53 minutes into the match. The supporters of Vännäsby BF booed when Hovby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Landin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hovby IF's Orvar Engström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Löfskog in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute of the match Åke Olsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Orvar Engström skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Hovby IF defense, Filiph Ek kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orvar Engström. The Hovby IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orvar Engström should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Vännäsby BF's Kevin Wallengren got control of the ball when Orvar Larsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Orvar Engström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filiph Ek, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 71st minute, Folke Skräddare ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Orvar Engström was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. In the 75th minute Filiph Ek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orvar Engström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 minutes of play, Vännäsby BF's Arne Löfskog made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Orvar Engström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Orvar Engström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filiph Ek in the 87th minute of play.
