Hisingen IK's Gustaf Skarkman got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jimmie Fågel during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Hisingen IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimmie Fågel to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, Wilhelm Lundberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Oscar Beckman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frans Karlberg was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Frans Karlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Mårtensson in the 42nd minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilhelm Lundberg to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oscar Beckman in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frans Karlberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 53 minutes into the match, Hisingen IK's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Mårtensson came free, but Frans Karlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the game, Urban Stenström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AIK FOTBOLL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hisingen IK the free kick. Urban Stenström kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After having played for 61 minutes, Gustaf Skarkman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hisingen IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaf Skarkman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd minute Nils-Erik Brogren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frans Karlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefan Mårtensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frans Karlberg having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nils-Erik Brogren in the 72nd minute of play forced Hisingen IK's goalkeeper Frans Karlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Hisingen IK's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Mårtensson came free, but Frans Karlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
