But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Lundström couldn't finish the play. 16 minutes into the match, Youth Academy Of Rhye's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Gallberg came free, but Ulf Holm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Roy Bennet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Protegéerna's Anders Malmberg quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sten Holmgren, made in the 22nd minute of the game. Ulf Holm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Bennet in the 24th minute of play. A collision led to Youth Academy Of Rhye getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Edmund Ek hit a great ball. The supporters of Protegéerna booed when Youth Academy Of Rhye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sten Holmgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Roy Gallberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulf Holm. Youth Academy Of Rhye's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roy Gallberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 37th minute, Sten Holmgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute Roy Bennet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulf Holm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roy Gallberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulf Holm read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After the first half Protegéerna were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Björk made a kick off. In the 55th match minute, Youth Academy Of Rhye was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvald Nässén to maneuver through the defense. Olof Löfkvist took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ulf Holm. Youth Academy Of Rhye's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Roy Bennet had several of the Youth Academy Of Rhye's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 58 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Ulf Holm as he didn't even see the shot coming. A hard shot 62 in the game by Roy Bennet from a close distance when the talented Ulf Holm managed to make a qualified save. Youth Academy Of Rhye's players were relieved. Sten Holmgren kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Protegéerna made a substitution. Oscar Löfgren replaced Fredrik Billberg. After a rather tough play, Youth Academy Of Rhye's Sten Holmgren got a free kick in the 65th minute. Roy Bennet received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ulf Holm came out and tried to block the shot, but Roy Bennet slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 66th minute. The audience was convinced that Roy Bennet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulf Holm was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. After 73 played minutes Protegéerna got a freekick which was hit by Anders Malmberg. In the 78th minute, Protegéerna's Roy Bennet dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. The referee felt a red card was in order, 85 minutes into the game, when Sten Holmgren put in a rough tackle. In the 85th minute, one of Youth Academy Of Rhye:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Youth Academy Of Rhye. Youth Academy Of Rhye's Tomas Björk got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Youth Academy Of Rhye's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Bennet came free, but Ulf Holm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Protegéerna's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
