The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claes Österlund got free with Douglas Käcker in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcus Forssberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Douglas Käcker read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Douglas Käcker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torsten Holmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Torsten Holmgren struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Douglas Käcker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IKS Norrköping. After having played for 37 minutes, Hampus Vallin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IKS Norrköping's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hampus Vallin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henrik Tingberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Örtlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd match minute, BK Nerysminne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulf Beckeman to maneuver through the defense. After 48 played minutes IKS Norrköping got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Sefastsson. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patrik Johnsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Torsten Holmgren kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 83 minutes in the game, Robert Örtlund dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 86th minute, Patrik Johnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
