Spectators: 165 (Terracing: 124, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) Bengt Hamberg started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Helge Bäckström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Sandberg in the 3rd minute of play. In the 3rd minute, Marcus Klementsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 4th minute of the match Peter Vall shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Helge Bäckström showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 5th minute, Eddie Forssell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Helge Bäckström was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Smurfarna's zone, Jesper Håkansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bertil Hammarbäck came out of the goal and Jesper Håkansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bertil Hammarbäck made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Malte Gerdberg sent off a good shot on target. 13 minutes into the match, Smurfarna's goalkeeper Bertil Hammarbäck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agne Isaksson. A collision led to Smurfarna getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Johan Sundberg hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sunkens Surtröjor's Thomas Gunnarsson got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute of the match, Agne Isaksson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bertil Hammarbäck was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Staffan Falck's late challenge caught a Smurfarna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Staffan Falck helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th minute, Carl Bergvall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the game, Bengt Hamberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Helge Bäckström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 36 minutes into the match, Smurfarna's goal looked a bit too open when Jesper Håkansson came free, but Bertil Hammarbäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Helge Bäckström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddie Forssell, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Sunkens Surtröjor's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Sandberg came free, but Helge Bäckström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agne Isaksson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bertil Hammarbäck came out and tried to block the shot, but Agne Isaksson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 45th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agne Isaksson made a kick off. Bertil Hammarbäck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agne Isaksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 60th minute Bengt Hamberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helge Bäckström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesper Håkansson in the 62nd minute of play forced Smurfarna's goalkeeper Bertil Hammarbäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sunkens Surtröjor's Marcus Klementsson got a free kick in the 66th minute. Helge Bäckström was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Bengt Hamberg capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bengt Hamberg really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Bengt Hamberg took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Helge Bäckström. Helge Bäckström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. 82 minutes into the match, Sunkens Surtröjor's goalkeeper Helge Bäckström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henry Sandberg. Jesper Håkansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bengt Hamberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute Eddie Forssell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helge Bäckström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Smurfarna's Peter Vall got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Smurfarna's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
