Helge Bäckström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Västlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Christoffer Dahlquist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newcastle United F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Helge Bäckström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claes Grubb in the 23rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ingvar Waller during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ingvar Waller kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. When the match had been going on for 27 minutes, Sunkens Surtröjor's Malte Gerdberg got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Viktor Sjöman. Niklas Kvalfält hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The Newcastle United F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Newcastle United F.C.'s Claes Grubb looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some careless play in the Sunkens Surtröjor defense, Claes Grubb kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Helge Bäckström. The Sunkens Surtröjor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Helge Bäckström should have stopped the shot. Jesper Håkansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Viktor Sjöman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. After 47 played minutes Newcastle United F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Niklas Kvalfält. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Agne Isaksson to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, Sunkens Surtröjor's Jesper Håkansson made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viktor Sjöman was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 56th minute, Agne Isaksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sunkens Surtröjor's Helge Bäckström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claes Grubb in the 58th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Claes Grubb took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Helge Bäckström to make any attempt to save it. Claes Grubb scored 2-5 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Helge Bäckström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Sunkens Surtröjor's goal looked a bit too open when Claes Grubb came free, but Helge Bäckström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the game, Sunkens Surtröjor's Agne Isaksson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Viktor Sjöman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-5. Claes Grubb in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Helge Bäckström, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 78 minutes into the game, Niklas Kvalfält was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newcastle United F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sunkens Surtröjor the free kick. If Jesper Håkansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viktor Sjöman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agne Isaksson in the 81st minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Jesper Håkansson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viktor Sjöman. Newcastle United F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jesper Håkansson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-6. Viktor Sjöman came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Sunkens Surtröjor's Jesper Håkansson. But to his dismay, Jesper Håkansson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-6. The Sunkens Surtröjor supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Newcastle United F.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for Newcastle United F.C..
