But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edwin Sjöberg couldn't finish the play. In the 24th minute, Onsala Ass Kickers's Kåre Bruhn ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Hellström. Jonathan Hellström yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 26th minute, Johannes Stenberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the game, Wrexham A.F.C.'s Edvin Rolandsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thomas Hägglund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Carl Ström took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thomas Hägglund. Thomas Hägglund dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 36th minute Edwin Sjöberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Onsala Ass Kickers's Jonathan Hellström threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edwin Sjöberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Edwin Sjöberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Hellström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edwin Sjöberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edwin Sjöberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kåre Bruhn was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Onsala Ass Kickers's goalkeeper Thomas Hägglund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carl Ström. One of Wrexham A.F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Onsala Ass Kickers:s goal. Wrexham A.F.C.:s Jonathan Hellström showed great skill when he stopped Axel Uggstedt:s penalty. Edwin Sjöberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Hellström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edwin Sjöberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Wrexham A.F.C.'s Jonathan Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edwin Sjöberg in the 61st minute of play. Johannes Stenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jonathan Hellström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Edwin Sjöberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Hellström was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Johannes Stenberg was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Onsala Ass Kickers getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Johannes Stenberg hit a great ball. Gunnar Ek hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Kåre Bruhn struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Jonathan Hellström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Onsala Ass Kickers. The supporters of Onsala Ass Kickers booed when Wrexham A.F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Johan Lund didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Max Kilstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arne Classon hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Axel Uggstedt was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
