A collision led to El Canalla de Chicago getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Scott Souza hit a great ball. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Canalla de Chicago's goalkeeper Roosevelt Guthrie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vince Potts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 31st minute, Scott Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. J.P. Marion was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. C. A. Independiente's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Scott Souza scored to the left of an out of position J.P. Marion, making the score, 4-0. 43 minutes into the match, Scott Souza dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of J.P. Marion, 5-0. With an all-out effort, El Canalla de Chicago's J.P. Marion threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Scott Souza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roy Huston stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vince Potts in the 77th minute of play. Oswaldo Acosta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roosevelt Guthrie having to interfere. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Canalla de Chicago's goalkeeper Roosevelt Guthrie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. El Canalla de Chicago's Roosevelt Guthrie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Huston in the 93rd minute of play. El Canalla de Chicago's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
