In the 3rd match minute, American Top Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthew Dooley to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the game, Cosmos Soccer Club's Claude Tuttle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Trevor Michaud made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a rather tough play, American Top Team's Quincy Nolan got a free kick in the 8th minute. Claude Tuttle charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claude Tuttle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Claude Tuttle hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Cosmos Soccer Club:s Quintin Saldana showed great skill when he stopped Shawn Ashby:s penalty. Trevor Michaud made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Maher in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Cosmos Soccer Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonah Dobbs to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the match, DeAndre Goff had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Quintin Saldana. Cosmos Soccer Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that DeAndre Goff was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Arnoldo Short had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Quintin Saldana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Short, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Marcus Maher reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Trevor Michaud. The goal made the score 3-1. Clay Quintana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. American Top Team's Trevor Michaud proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save American Top Team from getting a goal against them. Gerard Reed hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Shawn Ashby in the 42nd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Quintin Saldana's left hand side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.
Claude Tuttle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 53 minutes into the match, Arnoldo Short had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Quintin Saldana. Cosmos Soccer Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnoldo Short was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 61st minute, Cosmos Soccer Club's Nathan Cortez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nathan Cortez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cosmos Soccer Club protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nathan Cortez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cosmos Soccer Club fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! Shawn Ashby shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Winford Craig succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-3 in the 65th playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clay Quintana in the 70th minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Quintin Saldana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sergio Ferris hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. When Alvin Santiago came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Cosmos Soccer Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvin Santiago couldn't finish the play. DeAndre Goff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Cosmos Soccer Club's Emilio Felipe Poyer got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Alvin Santiago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Trevor Michaud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in American Top Team's zone, Alvin Santiago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trevor Michaud came out of the goal and Alvin Santiago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 92 minutes of play, Cosmos Soccer Club's Claude Tuttle made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Trevor Michaud was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 96th minute, Alvin Santiago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
