The audience was convinced that Noel Garcez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Viriato Horta was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. 15 minutes into the match, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Serafim Bezerra came free, but Márcio Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 17 minutes on the clock, Nicolau Tristão commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 16th minute, one of QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.. Márcio Leal had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping André Andrade's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Gustavo Gentil sped through QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Márcio Leal. 30 minutes into the match, GD JULIO DINIS's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Garcez came free, but Viriato Horta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geraldo Aires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Leal having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Noel Garcez made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Aparício Domingues left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Viriato Horta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Garcez, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Lameiras during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s João Lameiras got a free kick in the 61st minute. GD JULIO DINIS's Geraldo Lopes got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee ordered Geraldo Lopes off the ground. The referee ignored GD JULIO DINIS's protests and gave Patrício Bernardes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to GD JULIO DINIS getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Patrício Bernardes hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Noel Garcez managed to get in a good position for a shot. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Noel Garcez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viriato Horta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd match minute, GD JULIO DINIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Marinho to maneuver through the defense. GD JULIO DINIS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
