Zarco Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adélio Neves in the 13th minute of play. Serafim Sacadura hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Leal Guerreiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Figueira having to interfere. Aparício Taborda kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Gremio Viana's Eurico Figueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Carmona in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Fernando Couto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gremio Viana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ALF⚽RNEL⚽S FC the free kick.
