Rafael Carmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Figueira having to interfere. 29 minutes in the game, Adelino Gama fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Micael Torcato having to interfere. The supporters of GD Almargense booed when Gremio Viana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Quinaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Gremio Viana defense, Luís Noronha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eurico Figueira. The Gremio Viana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eurico Figueira should have stopped the shot. After 39 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Couto. Luís Casado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half GD Almargense were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Luís Casado kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Quinaz in the 53rd minute of play forced GD Almargense's goalkeeper Micael Torcato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eurico Figueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Noronha in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of GD Almargense booed when Gremio Viana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gervásio Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute of the match Luís Casado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eurico Figueira skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Noronha got free with Eurico Figueira in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Noronha who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Eurico Figueira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Filipe Quinaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Adão Porto fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GD Almargense's protests and gave Adão Porto a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes GD Almargense got a freekick which was hit by Adão Porto. Rafael Carmo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adélio Neves in the 82nd minute of play forced GD Almargense's goalkeeper Micael Torcato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Noronha got free with Eurico Figueira in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
