The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 played minutes Suprs Academia got a freekick which was hit by Saúl Bernardes. When Maurício Peseiro fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Minho FC's protests and gave Maurício Peseiro a yellow card for diving instead. Minho FC's Egídio Loureiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Héctor Chirol in the 11th minute of play. Egídio Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Héctor Chirol, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Héctor Chirol in the 14th minute of play forced Minho FC's goalkeeper Egídio Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute Marco Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Héctor Chirol struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Egídio Loureiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Suprs Academia. Egídio Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Héctor Chirol in the 24th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Antero Aveiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertino lacerda in the 37th minute of play forced Minho FC's goalkeeper Egídio Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th match minute, Minho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Varela to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Arthur Zico reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Egídio Loureiro. The goal made the score 2-1. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Fernandes couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Héctor Chirol in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egídio Loureiro saved Minho FC from getting behind. Héctor Chirol did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Egídio Loureiro 77 minutes into the match. A collision led to Suprs Academia getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Horácio Noronha hit a great ball. João Vilas Boas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 82nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Manuel Silveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ramiro Fernandes went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Minho FC's Ramiro Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Minho FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
