Mauro Valente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gervásio Anjos in the 10th minute of the match. Teodoro Ornelas kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute of the match Afonso Castanheira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mauro Valente showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Herberto Bento lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Cesário Sanches. Nicolau Alvarenga might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cesário Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolau Alvarenga ran back to his position shaking his head. If Eusébio Salgueiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, one of Pinhote FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mauro Valente went to the wrong direction when Afonso Castanheira was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 29 minutes into the match, AD Pontassolense's goal looked a bit too open when Herberto Bento came free, but Cesário Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pinhote FC's Mauro Valente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervásio Anjos in the 34th minute of play. If Gervásio Anjos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mauro Valente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolau Fagundes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicolau Fagundes to make the kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Pinhote FC's Nicolau Alvarenga made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cesário Sanches was left in no man's land by his defense there! 55 minutes into the game, Pinhote FC's Paulino Araújo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesário Sanches made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 59 minutes into the match, Pinhote FC's Herberto Bento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cesário Sanches narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, one of AD Pontassolense:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AD Pontassolense. The supporters of AD Pontassolense booed when Pinhote FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Salgueiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 minutes, Nicolau Fagundes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AD Pontassolense and the Pinhote FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to AD Pontassolense getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Nicolau Fagundes hit a great ball. After 71 played minutes AD Pontassolense got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Matos. Nicolau Fagundes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Mauro Valente made a huge save. In the 80th minute, Nicolau Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Amado's late challenge caught a Pinhote FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Amado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute, one of AD Pontassolense:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AD Pontassolense. 95 minutes into the match, Teodoro Ornelas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cesário Sanches. AD Pontassolense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teodoro Ornelas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0.
