The referee ignored Sporting Clube Patrício's protests and gave Claudemiro Gomes a yellow card for diving instead. Claudemiro Gomes hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Viriato Leal acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 7th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Baltasar Saraiva. In the 11th minute, Tarcísio Lopes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hamilton Gouveia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Maurício Gueifão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Viriato Leal made a huge save. When Sporting Clube Patrício's Tarcísio Lopes in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 81 played minutes, Sporting Clube Patrício's Albérico Figueiras shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hamilton Gouveia came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting Clube Patrício reached it. Baltasar Saraiva kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. A collision led to Terceirense F.C. getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Egídio Bacelar hit a great ball. Hamilton Gouveia was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Reinaldo Quental. If Egídio Bacelar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sporting Clube Patrício walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
