Januário Martins ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Januário Martins kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcelo Amaro. That made the score 2-0 in the 17 minute of play. When Veríssimo Carvalhal fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Micaelense's protests and gave Veríssimo Carvalhal a yellow card for diving instead. Lúcio Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurício Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maurício Neves to make the kick off. After 51 minutes, Wilson Moutinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Micaelense and the Arrebimba o Malho SLB players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Arrebimba o Malho SLB booed when Atlético Micaelense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position.
