In the 16th minute, Maurice Tisserand ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Quirino Courtemanche was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 19th minute, Dominique Grob hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, 1. FC Union Weberei's Maurice Tisserand sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Quirino Courtemanche narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SalentoUnited's Quirino Courtemanche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franz Kolb in the 22nd minute of play. Gilberto Archambault hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After 28 minutes, Mats Gregor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SalentoUnited and the 1. FC Union Weberei players grew even worse after the yellow card. A throw-in in the 37th minute of the game was made by Laurent Steiner with Gilberto Archambault as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 38 minutes into the match, SalentoUnited's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy LondeLalonde came free, but Quirino Courtemanche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The 1. FC Union Weberei fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when 1. FC Union Weberei's Freddy LondeLalonde looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 43rd minute Freddy LondeLalonde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quirino Courtemanche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armando Wiesi was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 47 played minutes 1. FC Union Weberei got a freekick which was hit by Garry Buck. Garry Buck hit a great freekick 49 minutes into the match. When Freddy LondeLalonde fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 1. FC Union Weberei's protests and gave Freddy LondeLalonde a yellow card for diving instead. In the 50th match minute, 1. FC Union Weberei was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy LondeLalonde to maneuver through the defense. The SalentoUnited players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. 1. FC Union Weberei were winning 0-4.

57 minutes into the match, Franz Kolb had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Quirino Courtemanche. SalentoUnited's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Franz Kolb was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Quirino Courtemanche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jake Dafond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy LondeLalonde in the 63rd minute of play forced SalentoUnited's goalkeeper Quirino Courtemanche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, SalentoUnited's Quirino Courtemanche got control of the ball when Jake Dafond tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Freddy LondeLalonde in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quirino Courtemanche saved SalentoUnited from getting behind. Maurice Tisserand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the 1. FC Union Weberei defense, Isai Hansen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raphael Gilli. The 1. FC Union Weberei fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raphael Gilli should have stopped the shot.
