FC Wil 1900's Carlos Schneider proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Wil 1900 from getting a goal against them. A collision led to FC Wil 1900 getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Frederic Kuster hit a great ball. Harrison Muntwyler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Carlos Schneider made a huge save. Carlos Schneider made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenan Vinciguerra in the 5th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Espen Steelers got a freekick which was hit by Freeman Mächler. In the 11th match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miro Primavera to maneuver through the defense. Harrison Muntwyler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Carlos Schneider made a huge save. After 13 played minutes Espen Steelers got a freekick which was hit by Kenan Vinciguerra. Andre Zurbuchen had in the 24thth minute some difficulties stopping Amandus Blattmer's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Espen Steelers defense, Amandus Blattmer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andre Zurbuchen. The Espen Steelers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andre Zurbuchen should have stopped the shot. Freeman Mächler struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Carlos Schneider didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espen Steelers. After 32 played minutes FC Wil 1900 got a freekick which was hit by Umberto Romano. The supporters of FC Wil 1900 booed when Espen Steelers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freeman Mächler didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Freeman Mächler came free, but Carlos Schneider reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frederic Kuster was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Hans Pasquino came free, but Carlos Schneider reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Schneider took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Pasquino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarrett Beljean hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Espen Steelers made a substitution. Gavin Ciprella replaced Enrico Schlüssel. After 66 played minutes FC Wil 1900 got a freekick which was hit by Jarrett Beljean. Carlos Schneider stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dimitrij Stocker's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Carlos Schneider took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitrij Stocker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicholas Zollinger hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Kenan Vinciguerra sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Wil 1900's Carlos Schneider didn't even have to move. Carlos Schneider came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Espen Steelers's Freeman Mächler. But to his dismay, Freeman Mächler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 82 minutes into the match, Freeman Mächler notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of FC Wil 1900's Carlos Schneider. Carlos Schneider was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freeman Mächler in the 85th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Carlos Schneider to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicholas Zollinger kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Carlos Schneider made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Pasquino in the 91st minute of play. Carlos Schneider showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitrij Stocker, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Carlos Schneider made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimitrij Stocker in the 97th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Wil 1900 players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Espen Steelers.
