After 8 minutes, Ricky Appleby mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chelsea Headhunters and the Gavião Kyikatejê players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 8 played minutes Chelsea Headhunters got a freekick which was hit by Ricky Appleby. Gavião Kyikatejê's Max Gilespie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Gavião Kyikatejê from getting a goal against them. Ron Wass's late challenge caught a Gavião Kyikatejê's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ron Wass helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th match minute, Chelsea Headhunters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron Wass to maneuver through the defense. Chelsea Headhunters's Steve Richardson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ewan Hughes in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Ewan Hughes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rod Reidfurd in the 25th minute of play forced Chelsea Headhunters's goalkeeper Steve Richardson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Douglas Jamieson fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chelsea Headhunters's protests and gave Douglas Jamieson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd minute, Douglas Jamieson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 35 played minutes Chelsea Headhunters got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Finlay. Chelsea Headhunters's Steve Richardson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rod Reidfurd in the 38th minute of play. Chelsea Headhunters's Munro Wood got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chelsea Headhunters's Steve Richardson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ewan Hughes in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rod Reidfurd was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Chelsea Headhunters's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Frew came free, but Steve Richardson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rod Reidfurd got free with Steve Richardson in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andrew Michie kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to Chelsea Headhunters getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Munro Wood hit a great ball. Rod Reidfurd kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Chelsea Headhunters's goal looked a bit too open when Rod Reidfurd came free, but Steve Richardson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Douglas Jamieson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 played minutes, Gavião Kyikatejê's Henry Simpson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Steve Richardson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gavião Kyikatejê reached it. Steve Richardson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ewan Hughes, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Ewan Hughes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Chelsea Headhunters's Steve Richardson got control of the ball when Rod Reidfurd tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 91 minutes of play, Gavião Kyikatejê's Henry Simpson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Steve Richardson was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match was over Gavião Kyikatejê could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Chelsea Headhunters throughout the match.
