After 17 played minutes Lord of the Wings got a freekick which was hit by Tom Connolly. Rangers FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tyler McCraw in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the game, Rangers FC's Raymond Johnston nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ron Fife made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Raymond Johnston took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Ron Fife to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Dean in the 41st minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Patrick Dean made the kick off in the second half. Rob Coull sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Raymond Johnston managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lord of the Wings's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roy Walters was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
