In the 22ndth minute of the game Rudy Cherry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Irving Dennis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Sport Lisboa e Benfica getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Eusebio Briggs hit a great ball. Varennes's Juste Reynolds played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonia Webb in the 33rd minute of play. Antonia Webb struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Juste Reynolds didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Wilfred Fleming's late challenge caught a Varennes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilfred Fleming helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Varennes booed when Sport Lisboa e Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 75th minute Rudy Cherry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irving Dennis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Baptiste Beck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irving Dennis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rudy Cherry's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Irving Dennis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudy Cherry in the 88th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Boniface Fulton got a free kick in the 91st minute.
