In the 18th minute, Wara's Antoine Ouyahia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Sài Gòn's Vũ Minh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antoine Ouyahia in the 23rd minute of play. Mohamed Zerara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Thanh Bình, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. A hard shot 33 in the game by Antoine Ouyahia from a close distance when the talented Vũ Minh managed to make a qualified save. Sài Gòn's players were relieved. 37 minutes into the game, Lê Hung was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nguyễn Thanh Bình kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. If Ahmed Bencheikh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Hoa was the one to do the kick off. Mohamed Zerara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Hoa in the 52nd minute of the match. Sài Gòn's Vũ Minh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moulay Dahleb in the 56th minute of play. After 57 played minutes Sài Gòn got a freekick which was hit by Đào Nam. After some careless play in the Sài Gòn defense, Antoine Ouyahia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vũ Minh. The Sài Gòn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vũ Minh should have stopped the shot. Vũ Minh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antoine Ouyahia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Hoa in the 70th minute of play forced Wara's goalkeeper Mohamed Zerara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 minutes of play, Wara's Antoine Ouyahia made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vũ Minh was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sài Gòn's Đào Nam managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Madjid Mansouri in the 81 minute of the game. 84 minutes into the game, Antoine Ouyahia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Vũ Minh was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wara were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Sài Gòn for a fine match.
