In the 17th minute Sammy Kosgei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tintus Makariem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Korir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from I Ketut Rupawan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Talib Hassan in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tintus Makariem, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 26 minutes into the game, Zablon Maish was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tintus Makariem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Talib Hassan in the 46th minute of the match. 46 minutes in the game, Talib Hassan dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ebieth Suryadinata was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the PS Gunung Sindur defense, Talib Hassan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tintus Makariem. The PS Gunung Sindur fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tintus Makariem should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ogembo Waithaka in the 57th minute of play forced PS Gunung Sindur's goalkeeper Tintus Makariem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tintus Makariem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Talib Hassan in the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th match minute, PS Gunung Sindur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ponco Gutawa to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Talib Hassan put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tintus Makariem. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Talib Hassan in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tintus Makariem saved PS Gunung Sindur from getting behind. In the 78th minute, Kiran Rop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, Talib Hassan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tintus Makariem was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Tintus Makariem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Tergat, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when I Ketut Rupawan got free with Wilson Korir in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 91 minutes into the match, PS Gunung Sindur's goal looked a bit too open when Talib Hassan came free, but Tintus Makariem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, John Tergat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tintus Makariem was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. When the referee ended the match the Rothwell Park players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
