After 8 played minutes The Cavern Club got a freekick which was hit by Romulo Huly. Guido Urki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Esiquio having to interfere. Barrialito's attentive Gonzalo Oidor managed to snatch the ball when Anacleto Lobo made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. Martín Palermo scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicasio Cordarrell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th match minute, Barrialito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The Cavern Club made a substitution. Mauro Luix replaced Ermegildo Otsoko. In the 55thth minute of the game Martín Palermo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barrialito's Nicasio Cordarrell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Barrialito's Nicasio Cordarrell got control of the ball when Martín Palermo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Barrialito's Joel Lehen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Apolo Dimas, made in the 63rd minute of the game. 69 minutes into the match, Barrialito's goalkeeper Nicasio Cordarrell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martín Palermo. Martín Palermo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Nicasio Cordarrell made a huge save. Nicasio Cordarrell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Palermo in the 87th minute of the match. Romulo Huly kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Mauro Luix could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Nicasio Cordarrell made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Martín Cabezon managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Cavern Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Martín Cabezon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicasio Cordarrell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. The Cavern Club walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
