The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The CLUB ATLETICO MALANDRAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victor Gelmiro should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Leon Platense's Oscar Barto got a free kick in the 25th minute. Saul Beltza charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saul Beltza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Leon Platense getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Saul Beltza hit a great ball. After 29 played minutes Leon Platense got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Barto. 31 minutes into the game, Leon Platense's Marco Umbruso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victor Gelmiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. When Marco Umbruso came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Leon Platense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Umbruso couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saul Beltza in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victor Gelmiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santiago Raymon's late challenge caught a CLUB ATLETICO MALANDRAS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santiago Raymon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, one of Leon Platense:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Leon Platense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gregorio Paio to make the kick off. A collision led to Leon Platense getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Adrian Quin hit a great ball. Santiago Raymon got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Guillermo Aguilera kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. A collision led to CLUB ATLETICO MALANDRAS getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Guillermo Aguilera hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in CLUB ATLETICO MALANDRAS's zone, Marco Umbruso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Gelmiro came out of the goal and Marco Umbruso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victor Gelmiro didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 71st minute, which inside left pole to 2-5. Marco Umbruso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Victor Gelmiro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Leon Platense's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Saul Beltza in the 85th minute. The corner ended in Saul Beltza almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CLUB ATLETICO MALANDRAS's Victor Gelmiro did a great save. Victor Gelmiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Umbruso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
