After 10 played minutes Club El Progreso got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Godoy. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Guerau in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baldomero Gelmiro saved BAC Belgrano de Cba from getting behind. In the 20th match minute, BAC Belgrano de Cba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sixto Benet to maneuver through the defense. Humberto Guerau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 23 minutes into the game, Baldomero Salomon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club El Progreso's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BAC Belgrano de Cba the free kick. The referee ignored BAC Belgrano de Cba's protests and gave Basilio Mederi a yellow card for diving instead. After 62 played minutes BAC Belgrano de Cba got a freekick which was hit by Basilio Mederi. 67 minutes into the match, Apolo Ramos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baldomero Gelmiro. BAC Belgrano de Cba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Apolo Ramos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The supporters of BAC Belgrano de Cba booed when Club El Progreso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club El Progreso fans cheered their team off the field, for while BAC Belgrano de Cba had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
