A collision led to Atlético Rio Cuarto getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Celso Lonzo hit a great ball. Omar Bartuelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eleuterio Benvide, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Omar Bartuelo was a little too slow when Astor Arotza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-0. A collision led to Atlético Rio Cuarto getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Celso Lonzo hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Orlando Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orlando Montes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Gonzalo Regis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonzalo Regis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urbano Felipillo in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of Defensores de Mar de Ajó booed when Atlético Rio Cuarto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Urbes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omar Bartuelo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteban Ortle in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julio Peru was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Isadore during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Atlético Rio Cuarto getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Alfredo Isadore hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julio Peru in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gonzalo Regis saved Atlético Rio Cuarto from getting behind. Gonzalo Regis came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Julio Peru. But to his dismay, Julio Peru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Esteban Ortle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Ramiro Gartzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Peru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Defensores de Mar de Ajó's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Ortle came free, but Omar Bartuelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Omar Bartuelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteban Ortle, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Gonzalo Regis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Montes in the 79th minute of the match. Despite being the better team, Defensores de Mar de Ajó failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
