Aureliano Lorenz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonatan Ferran in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonatan Ferran during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Omar Bartuelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ambrosio Umea in the 21st minute of play. Jonatan Ferran received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aureliano Lorenz came out and tried to block the shot, but Jonatan Ferran slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Tano in the 33rd minute of play forced Defensores de Mar de Ajó's goalkeeper Omar Bartuelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Defensores de Mar de Ajó getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Urbano Tipi hit a great ball. 46 minutes into the match, Defensores de Mar de Ajó's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Tano came free, but Omar Bartuelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Apolo Salvidor got free with Aureliano Lorenz in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Apolo Salvidor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Defensores de Mar de Ajó defense, Emiliano Bernabel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Omar Bartuelo. The Defensores de Mar de Ajó fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Omar Bartuelo should have stopped the shot. Apolo Salvidor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aureliano Lorenz having to interfere. In the 67th minute Jonatan Ferran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureliano Lorenz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apolo Salvidor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis Caetano kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Armando Gonza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the game, Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Apolo Salvidor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aureliano Lorenz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Aureliano Lorenz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Peyo in the 91st minute of play. Aureliano Lorenz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonatan Ferran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matheu City FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
