Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Los Hornos's Epifanio Laurendi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Los Hornos from getting a goal against them. The referee gave Sarmiento de Resistencia a penalty, 35 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Felipe Leguizamón, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Los Hornos's Epifanio Laurendi. 1-0. The supporters of Sarmiento de Resistencia booed when Los Hornos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Pierres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Leguizamón sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 43rd match minute, Sarmiento de Resistencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Mambru to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Juan Bautista put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Benigno Manilan. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Siro Elazar to make the kick off. Cirilo Azibar made in the 62nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Simon Criston however managed to control. Benigno Manilan made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Juan Bautista sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Los Hornos booed when Sarmiento de Resistencia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basilio Mateus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Bautista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Benigno Manilan made a huge save. When Siro Elazar came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Sarmiento de Resistencia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Siro Elazar couldn't finish the play. Epifanio Laurendi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basilio Mateus in the 92nd minute of play. Benigno Manilan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Bautista in the 95th minute. Los Hornos were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Sarmiento de Resistencia to leave the ground with a draw.
