Diego Tanio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geronimo Hegoi having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goal looked a bit too open when Remigio Panfilo came free, but Geronimo Hegoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucio Ellande's late challenge caught a El Patriarca ®'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucio Ellande helped the player get up and apologised. Esteban Jordy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenio Gartxot in the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Eugenio Gartxot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Jordy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benigno Johans might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Esteban Jordy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benigno Johans ran back to his position shaking his head. Marciano Pepillo charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marciano Pepillo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Papillon AC booed when El Patriarca ® was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marciano Pepillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benigno Johans during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half Papillon AC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Remigio Panfilo was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Galindo came free, but Geronimo Hegoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of El Patriarca ® booed when Papillon AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Onofre didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute of the match Maximino Jerrald shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geronimo Hegoi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the El Patriarca ® defense, Eustaquio Cordera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteban Jordy. The El Patriarca ® fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esteban Jordy should have stopped the shot.
