The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Feliciano Ignado kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Froilan Ofelio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 10th minute Daniel Lugo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Gelmiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, Daniel Lugo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rosendo Gelmiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aureliano Arce in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santo Shantala prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Aureliano Arce put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Santo Shantala. 18 minutes into the match, 1989 Blxsk's goal looked a bit too open when Eulalio Veronica came free, but Santo Shantala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Venancio Pancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st match minute, 1989 Blxsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Carozza to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of LA LUZ F.C. booed when 1989 Blxsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Carozza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santo Shantala made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Maximino Berart sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Maximino Berart kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santo Shantala. That made the score 2-2 in the 37 minute of play. In the 40th minute, Aureliano Arce ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Santo Shantala was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Santo Shantala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximino Berart in the 46th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

1989 Blxsk's Elvio Tebaldo was substituted for Apolo Ascencio. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Venancio Pancho was the one to do the kick off. Leonel Emmanuel scored 4-2 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Santo Shantala, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anacleto Cibran was extremely unlucky when he, in the 60th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Eulalio Veronica took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santo Shantala. Santo Shantala dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. Santo Shantala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aureliano Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute, Eulalio Veronica got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute, Leonel Emmanuel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Santo Shantala was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-2. Santo Shantala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aureliano Arce in the 71st minute of the match. Rosendo Gelmiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. LA LUZ F.C. were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
