Andi Johnson did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Amancio Urtats 9 minutes into the match. After having played for 15 minutes, Osvaldo Tiniebra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Retorno de Palermo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Tiniebra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 15 played minutes Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ got a freekick which was hit by Andi Johnson. Richard Textex made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Tiniebra in the 21st minute of play. Richard Textex showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aquiles Cordearo in the 24th minute of the match. Aquiles Cordearo hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

If Andi Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Higinio Azibar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andi Johnson scored 4-0 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amancio Urtats, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andi Johnson in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amancio Urtats saved El Retorno de Palermo from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Andi Johnson put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Amancio Urtats. Osvaldo Tiniebra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Textex having to interfere. After some careless play in the Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ defense, Aquiles Cordearo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Richard Textex. The Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richard Textex should have stopped the shot. El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andi Johnson in the 86th minute of play. Amancio Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Mendiko in the 88th minute of play. In the 94th minute, Rigoberto Anaya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the El Retorno de Palermo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖.
