He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Riesgo Cero reached it. Encarale a la gordita's Alfonso Igon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Encarale a la gordita from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute, Lucas Etxeberri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conrado Lauro got free with Alfonso Igon in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Claudio Quentin scored 0-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mauro Eliu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Clodoveo Pacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Encarale a la gordita getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Lucas Etxeberri hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Riesgo Cero booed when Encarale a la gordita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas Erasto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Faustino Galo's late challenge caught a Riesgo Cero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chants of Encarale a la gordita echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Riesgo Cero had held the ball for most of the match.
