The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Catarinense F.C.'s Benicio Gaitan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Catarinense F.C. from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Q. T. I.'s Gaston Stanislao got a free kick in the 5th minute. Gaston Stanislao kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. When Godfredo Gabon came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Catarinense F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godfredo Gabon couldn't finish the play. Catarinense F.C.'s Faustino Izel got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Godfredo Gabon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Perrando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximiliano Blasco kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Filomeno Perrando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Osorio in the 26th minute of the match. Benicio Gaitan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Abar, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After 32 played minutes Catarinense F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Osorio. After 33 minutes, Rodrigo Cruz made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Catarinense F.C.'s Benicio Gaitan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gaudencio Chaime kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Q. T. I.'s zone, Romeo Osorio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filomeno Perrando came out of the goal and Romeo Osorio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute Jaime Abar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Gaitan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Abar to make the kick off. Benicio Gaitan came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Q. T. I.'s Rodrigo Cruz. But to his dismay, Rodrigo Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 57th minute, Catarinense F.C.'s Alejandro Perutxo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alejandro Perutxo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Catarinense F.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alejandro Perutxo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Catarinense F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Q. T. I.:s goal. Zacarias Bento who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Filomeno Perrando when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 63 minutes into the game, one of Q. T. I.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Baldomiro Henry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benicio Gaitan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Cruz in the 79th minute of the match. Catarinense F.C.'s Benicio Gaitan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Abar in the 86th minute of play. Zacarias Bento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Perrando having to interfere. Faustino Izel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Catarinense F.C.'s goalkeeper Benicio Gaitan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Zacarias Bento fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catarinense F.C.'s protests and gave Zacarias Bento a yellow card for diving instead. Aquilino Cortez kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. Benicio Gaitan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Abar in the 100th minute of play. Catarinense F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
