In the 21st match minute, Gimnasia y tiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carolo Baladi to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abelardo Jaunzuria in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvio Dei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ladislao Senio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Honorato Ur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Marin in the 30th minute of the match. 33 minutes in the game, Carolo Baladi fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Honorato Ur having to interfere. The supporters of Gimnasia y tiro booed when FMArgentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Inguma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ovidio Cutberto struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Honorato Ur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia y tiro. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Carolo Baladi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gimnasia y tiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Carolo Baladi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorato Ur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Segundo Marin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Ur having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Honorato Ur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Segundo Marin, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After having played for 54 minutes, Diego Nesor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia y tiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Nesor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th minute, Segundo Marin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Segundo Marin in the 64th minute of play forced FMArgentina's goalkeeper Honorato Ur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y tiro's Diego Nesor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Honorato Ur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Silvio Dei successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 89 minutes into the match, FMArgentina's Arnulfo Osoitz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silvio Dei narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ovidio Cutberto hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Gimnasia y tiro were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
