Javier Stephen's late challenge caught a Los Gallos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Javier Stephen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd minute, Javier Stephen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Elias Oto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valentin Neron took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lucas Cesaro. Gastres FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Los Gallos fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Los Gallos's Valentin Neron looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With an all-out effort, Gastres FC's Filiberto Iratzeder threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Faustino Eduino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 27 minutes into the match, Gastres FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Osoitz came free, but Lucas Cesaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gastres FC's Lucas Cesaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Primitivo Chago in the 29th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Osoitz in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucas Cesaro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 30 minutes Gastres FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valentin Neron who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Gastres FC's Pablo Bide got a free kick in the 36th minute. Albano Sanduru kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Gastres FC's Marco Endura tried to score from far away in the 41st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Albano Sanduru hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Filiberto Iratzeder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Endura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raul Fresco was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Arnaldo Mino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59thth minute of the game Arnaldo Mino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Gallos's Filiberto Iratzeder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Filiberto Iratzeder came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Gastres FC's Raul Fresco. But to his dismay, Raul Fresco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Fernando Osoitz came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Los Gallos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Osoitz couldn't finish the play. Los Gallos's Filiberto Iratzeder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Mino in the 80th minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Uriel Rik was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Gallos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gastres FC the free kick. Uriel Rik kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 85 minutes into the game, Salvador Aballe recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lucas Cesaro. Salvador Aballe showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Lucas Cesaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Osoitz in the 89th minute of play. A collision led to Gastres FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Javier Stephen hit a great ball. The Los Gallos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los Gallos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
