In the 4th minute, Florentino Endira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. RIVER's Narciso Jerrald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Ranolfo in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Nicasio Mendebal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Basilio Justin. Nicasio Mendebal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Narciso Jerrald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonatan Felipo in the 20th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Anselmo Esdras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basilio Justin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to RIVER getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Florentino Endira hit a great ball. After 38 played minutes RIVER got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Astigar. Basilio Justin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Anselmo Esdras showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 41 minute of play. RIVER's Narciso Jerrald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Ranolfo in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anselmo Esdras stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Esdras came free, but Basilio Justin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. RIVER made a substitution. Gerardo Ixaka replaced Cecilio Rencio. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Wilfredo Gaxan got a free kick in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Higinio Nofre in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basilio Justin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, RIVER's Honorato Astigar got a free kick in the 64th minute. Dionisio Monico took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Narciso Jerrald. RIVER's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Club Atlético Atlanta's Leonardo Paulin was substituted for Joaquin Fonso. After 71 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Paulin. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Higinio Nofre in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basilio Justin saved Club Atlético Atlanta from getting behind. After a rather tough play, RIVER's Honorato Astigar got a free kick in the 75th minute. Club Atlético Atlanta's Dionisio Monico couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 76th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for RIVER. In the 78th minute, Higinio Nofre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Basilio Justin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 82nd minute of the match, Leonardo Paulin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Narciso Jerrald saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gerardo Ixaka hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Narciso Jerrald acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 86th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Wilfredo Gaxan. Narciso Jerrald made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonatan Felipo in the 88th minute. Basilio Justin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Higinio Nofre in the 94th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Higinio Nofre in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basilio Justin saved Club Atlético Atlanta from getting behind. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The RIVER fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Atlético Atlanta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
